What Is A Home Warranty?

StrucSure Home Warranty is FHA/VA Approved and is a Member of the National Association of Home Builders.We value every builder in our program and appreciate every home you enroll. Many of the other programs seek out big volume-based builders and offer a pre-packaged program. We are available to builders of all sizes and work hard to meet each of your needs individually.

The need for ten year structural warranties began in the 1970s when Congress suggested that builders escrow 10% of the price of a home to cover structural defects (which statistically occur about as often as major fire damage). As builder margins were not equipped to absorb that 10%, home warranty companies were conceived to bear the risk. They provide a neutral link between the homebuilder and homebuyer should a structural defect occur and offer third-party arbitration services should a disagreement arise. StrucSure Home Warranty covers major structural failure of the load-bearing portions of new homes for 10 years from the day of closing. The guidelines for coverage have been established by the Department of Housing and Urban Development and include defects such as framing members, roof trusses, floor joists and the foundation system. Limitations are set forth in the warranty booklet which is issued at closing. Our 2-10 warranty also backs builders on workmanship and materials for the first year and delivery systems (i.e. ductwork and pipes) through the second year.
